About Lauren Savit

Lauren's work examines the public/private binary as a powerful ideological construction that undergirds most of our social norms. Drawing upon core WGS theoretical frameworks such as intersectionality and queer of color critique, as well as feminist media studies, her research focuses on how these notions have culturally, politically, or legally designated people and spaces as "public" or "private" at different historical moments.
