Ryan graduated cum laude from The College of New Jersey in 2014 with a B.A. in both English Literature and Women's & Gender Studies. He completed his senior thesis, a combination of qualitative research and ethnography, on queer youth homelessness in Philadelphia and New York entitled “A Problem That Has No Home”. His current research interests focus on the intersections of Native studies, Queer of Color Critique, American public policy, and visuality. An avid backpacker, Ryan comes to Indiana University after extensive travels in Europe, India, and the United States.
